An artist for over 30 years, Celene has shown extensively in galleries and juried art shows. She was voted one of the top artists in Waldo County, Maine, by the Waldo County Citizen’s and The Republican Journal’s “Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards” in 2008, 2009,2010 and 2011.
“I enjoy the challenge of painting outside, “en plein air”, trying to capture the fleeting effects of light, color and the ever-changing tides here in the beautiful state of Maine.
I also enjoy painting still-lifes in my studio. I strive for the Chiaroscuro effects of strong lights, dark shadows and saturated colors. I love old, timeworn objects that reflect a simpler time.
Painting is very important to me. It is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy."
