Henry Bonner was brought up in a household where art, design, and kindred pursuits of taste were paramount. From the age of ten, he began to seriously pursue art and did so whenever possible despite the exigencies of his checkered career. All during his teens he received years of formal instruction in oil and watercolor painting, composition, etc. which has served him well. At the age of twenty-three, he had his first one-man exhibit followed by many more over the years, both here and abroad. Art became and was always a serious avocation.
